The new Subaru 2015 Impreza range has arrived and it is on sale now. The range has utilized the extensive styling changes that arrived last year and acquired the new MY15 moniker. However, the changes are far more extensive and worthy of attention for Impreza fans and the uninitiated but curious alike.
The Pricing Structure
This is a key area that many people are interested in and there is some good news for you. Thanks to the Free Trade Agreement that came into force in January the Subaru Impreza price has been lowered by $500 across the entire range. This may seem like a paltry sum to the more cynical amongst you, but individual models also have price reductions as well. The new Subaru Impreza has many improvements over the outgoing model and it is cheaper! This is quite a nice bonus and great value for money. The full pricing structure is as follows:
2.0i 6 speed manual – $22,990
2.0i Lineartronic CVT – $24,990
2.0i Premium 6 speed manual – $ 21,400
2.0i Lineartronic CVT – $23,400
2.0i-S Lineartronic CVT – $27,400
Manual – $38,990
Lineartronic CVT – $40,990
Premium manual $43,990
Premium Lineartronic CVT – $45,990
STI Manual – $49,990
STI Premium manual – $54,990
Clarifying the Models and Specifications
If you have previous experience with the Subaru Impreza range there may be a few surprises on the above pricing list. Firstly the 2015 models have renamed the old 2.0i-L as the 2.0i Premium. However, this seems to be merely a name change as the key features of this model were a leather trim interior, a leather steering wheel, fog lights and a reversing camera and they are the same. One new feature on the 2.0i Premium is an addition of new 16” alloy wheels. Other changes throughout the range include 6.2” touch-screen displays for the entry level and Premium 2.0i models. The 2.0i-S gets a 7” multi information display, an additional USB port and a satellite navigation system as standard. The 2.0i-S version also gets a new boot spoiler on the sedan model. Upgrades across the entire range include improved steering wheel switches, metallic highlights on front arm-rests and matching silver accents on the air conditioning controls and vents.
What Has Stayed the Sam
The engine remains unchanged for the 2015 models and generates 110kW/196Nm from the 2.0 litre four cylinder engine. All wheel drive operation has remained as standard across the entire range with both six speed manual and a Lineartronic CVT automatic versions available.
