The Brand Image Awards are an important component of the Kelley Blue Book Awards and are designed to recognise the outstanding achievements within the automotive industry to create and maintain the brand attributes which capture the enthusiasm of new vehicle buyers. According to Kelley Blue Book Vice President of Marketing Intelligence, Hwei-Lin Oetken, “perception is reality” and their Brand Image Awards allow new car shoppers to voice their opinions. He further commented that consumers are more influenced to take interest in automotive brands today, as there are “strong product lineups” together with “compelling marketing communications”. He also acknowledged that peer ratings and reviews ultimately affect vehicle purchase decisions.
This award is the first time that Subaru have won a Brand Image Award from Kelley Blue Book. This is thought to be the result of the highly rated range of vehicles now available including the Impreza, BRZ, Forester, Outback and Subaru Liberty 2015 models. The 2015 Most Trusted Brand title was snatched from the long time winner Honda. The brand also beat the Best Performance Brand 2014 winner Mini to claim the 2015 award.
Subaru has had a very successful year in regards to the Kelley Blue Book MY15 awards. The brand also claimed the 2015 Best Resale Value Award and the Five Year Cost to Own Award. They also received a number of model specific accolades.
